We were really excited that local eco-friendly living organisation The Hockerton Housing Project chose us to redevelop their website a number of years ago. This was a perfect eco web design project! Having been aware of Hockerton Housing Project for many years, it was fantastic to get the opportunity to work with them.
Great to work with efficient and quick, takes the hassle out of a web site.

Design & Branding
With branding and other graphics taken care of by Hockerton resident Bill Bolton, we created a new site design for Hockerton Housing Project including a responsive design that reformats to suit mobile screen sizes. Using WordPress as a starting point, we created a custom theme and customised WordPress to give Hockerton Housing Project the functionality they needed.
The design has evolved over the years with a recent homepage refresh to promote their products and services more clearly. By using our own theme rather than a generic commercial one, we’ve been able to easily make the changes required.
Green Web Hosting
The site runs on our green web hosting and has our free Let’s Encrypt Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate installed to give them the green padlock in the browser address bar and make the site more secure. We also helped import their old website and external blog content into the new site.
Ecommerce
Hockerton Housing Project have a range of technical factsheets and pictures available to buy, so we created an online shop to help them sell more copies. The shop was initially run on Jigoshop, but as WooCommerce became the dominant WordPress ecommerce platform we cross-graded them to that system. Paypal takes care of the payment side of things.
